Urban cycling / Bikeability Report April 2016

During the first week back in Term 5 April 11th – 14th 2016 Adrian Oliver and his team came into Orchard school to run Bikeability and Urban cycling courses for Key Stage 2 and 3.

We were lucky with the weather and a great time was had by all. 

28 pupils chose to take part 25 boys and 3 girls and all progressed during their sessions.

3 pupils achieved basic play ground cycling skills

11 pupils achieved Level 1Orchard School Urban cycling Bikeability

9 pupils achieved Level 2

2 pupils achieved Level 3 

3 pupils who achieved level 3 in previous years went out on a long refresher ride along roads,cycle paths and by the river.

The pupils will all receive a booklet explaining what they need to do next to make progress plus a certificate with individual feedback and a badge if they achieved the level.

Orchard School Urban cycling Bikeability6 pupils will be chosen to represent the school at the Kent School Games Cycling competition which is held at the Cyclopark in Gravesend on May 19th 2016.
